Bikers for Barkers Campaign

Bikers for Barkers Fundraiser

Problem

Dainese D-Store, the San Francisco location of an Italian leader in protective clothing and gear for motorcycle riders, joined forces with a group of people who love animals to create Bikers for Barkers. The team’s goal was to raise funds for dogs in danger of being euthanized. They planned a fundraiser for which they needed to drive ticket sales and organize a silent auction in order to raise money for two dog rescue groups, Hearts for Hounds and Rocket Dog Rescue.

Solution

DMSF developed a comprehensive marketing, press, and social media strategy in order to raise awareness of the fundraiser via event promotion websites, major press outlets, and various social networks. We assisted in procuring donations for the silent auction and worked closely with the event planning team. We managed the printing of flyers and leveraged Dainese’s large email list to spread the word about the fundraiser.

Results

DMSF helped Bikers for Barkers raise $10,000 in tickets sales and silent auction proceeds, an exponential return on the team’s initial investment. Two dogs were adopted into loving homes during the evening, and Bikers for Barkers received a great deal of positive response from social media outlets, as well as extensive media coverage of the event. The evening was such a success that Bikers for Barkers decided to file for 501(c)(3) status and began planning for the next fundraiser, which will now become an annual event.
